why I almost quit WordPress last week (and am still a little unsure this week)

First of all, I’m a delight.
Second, could we not have this site taken over by AI like all the others have been?
Third, my dear sweet husband took this photo of me a few weeks ago, and it sums up how I’ve been feeling the past week or so.

A woman sitting contemplatively with a forest behind her.

Let me just get this out of the way first. Yes, I have used AI. Yes, I do use AI in my research because everyone is jumping on the AI bus for some reason in this kind of dystopian way as if it, the AI, will save us from ourselves.

I’ve been with WordPress forever in Internet years. It first started off as push button publishing, and now…honestly I don’t know. Now it is odd for me to be writing these things on the site where I write the things, but after a deep dive into the greater world of creativity in the modern age, I’m just sort of sad to be sitting here writing things that I’m writing.

Is it horrible of me to be like, “hey, lemme write a lot of junk text to stave off the sniffer bots”?

This might be the end of my blogging career, y’all. I’m just kind of over all of this, you know.

It’s a beautiful day outside, and I’m going to go touch grass.
