But don’t be satisfied with stories, how things
have gone with others. Unfold
your own myth, without complicated explanation,
so everyone will understand the passage,
We have opened you.

Rumi

First of all, I’m a delight.
Second, everything I’m about to tell you is true.
And the not-so-secret third thing is that I contain multitudes.

In the past however many years I’ve written a lot of bios, about me copy, and tried my best to give all y’all a good description of who I am and what my work looks like. Honestly it was like trying to herd cats, while “pivoting the synergy to circle back and optimize the flow” to please the Algorithmic Gods and the lesser known deities called Bots.

Doing that made me feel inauthentic, sad, untethered, and really, really fake. While I seriously tried multiple times to continue the agonizing work of trying to fit in places that only posture welcoming the stranger, it finally became obvious at the end of 2025 that doing so was harmful to my health, the well being of my family, and a lot of other things you will read about on this site.

What you will find on this site is the inner machinations of my soul and my brain. So you know I don’t know how to be an influencer, but it didn’t work out for me. Many years in the LiveJournal Universe my work and life were a little bit popular, and I used to be cool — now I just want to be happy, while also providing for my family.

My punctuation and typos are quite literally an extension of my soul. While I have talked to, or worked with AI/LLM, you can rest assured that everything that I post here, and on my other site (info below), is all mine. Every run on ramble, galloping grammar, and side quests in parentheses belong solely to me. Or soul-ly, as the case may be.

This is where I should be telling you all the things about my professional career to sway you in some manner. There are tons of psychological papers on this, and in my college years all the marketing and PR professors taught us how to manipulate y’all into reading, buying, and acting in a way that doesn’t always benefit you or your life. The same is true of journalism and media, so just tuck that in your pocket for a moment and ponder how you are swayed by those who prosper off of your pain/joy/emotions/soul/etc.

For the curious, I make things and help people – but not always in that order. Also, I use the skills gathered during some of the hardest part of my life, and the life of my family. But honestly, mostly I just listen. That has led folks to call me a “listening woman,” but not like in the Tony Hillerman novel with the same name. This year, 2026, I’ve shifted into the realm of the (insert drum roll here) Crone. While an interesting place to be wisdom wise, it also comes with extra chin hairs, fatigue, and a hope for humanity that wasn’t there in my younger years. But I digress, and also…you’ll most likely read about these things if you stick around.

Now, as mentioned above, the “other site.”

This space is for me – and just me. While I might talk about other things such as my work, life, and so on. The URL is my name, so that’s what you will find here. If you want to know more about my work, that will be on Mom’s Strange Magic (site in progress as of 2/5/2026). Also, you will find that work through Patreon and on YouTube. I’ve given way too much of my energy to the people at M E T A – and my heart is weary from all the vitriolic hatred with a dash of “people who care” (as one of my kids say) that grandstand about how good they are.

Now for the fun stuff…
Along with my husband, some cats, and some kids, I’ve lived a very happy, albeit sometimes way too dramatic for my liking sometimes, life on a small plot of land in Kentucky. We had an organic farm, taught some classes, and pretty much survived anything that was thrown our way. Now my sweet Mr. The Mister and I are getting a little older, and prefer having a wee hermitage over the hustle and bustle of the world. And about those cats – well they are often on the podcasts, in the videos, or photo bombing any picture I get of my creative work. In short, there will always – and I do mean always – be cats.

With that, I’ve come to the end of this bio. Thank you for being here.
